PYRAsense10, Spectrally Flat Class A Pyranometer
A pyranometer measures solar irradiance on a horizontal or inclined surface in watts per square meter (W/m²).
This radiation is composed of:
- Direct beam radiation
- Diffuse sky radiation
- Reflections from the environment (if the measuring surface is tilted)
"Spectrally flat" means that the sensor measures evenly across a broad spectrum of solar radiation wavelengths. The sunlight that reaches Earth covers approximately the range from 300nm (UV) to 3000nm (infrared). A spectrally flat pyranometer responds linearly across this entire range, regardless of the colour or wavelength of the radiation. This is especially important for precise measurements according to ISO and WMO standards, since inexpensive silicon sensors only measure in the visible and near-IR and thus produce inaccurate results.
Pyranometers are classified according to ISO 9060:2018:
Class A (Secondary Standard) – highest accuracy
Class B (First Class) – medium accuracy
Class C (Second Class) – simple accuracy for general measurements
PYRAsense10 is a new ‘Spectrally Flat’ Class B pyranometer, according to ISO 9060:2018.
The new, elegantly shaped design disguises, in digital models, a body in which the 3 internal temperature, humidity and pressure sensors allow to keep operating conditions of the sensors always under control.
The leveling device, visible even with the UV resistant protective screen, together with the tilt angle option allow the user to always identify the correct position.
Available as passive output version, analog 4…20mA, Modbus-RTU or Modbus-RTU with optional analog output.
RS485 Modbus-RTU output galvanically isolated + optional analog output make the sensor flexible and easy to integrate in any existing system.
Based on an accurate thermopile, PYRAsense10 has been designed to comply with WMO recomendations and IEC 61724-1 requirements for
Class A PV Systems.
Using the PC application software DATAsense, it is possible to configure the sensor, to monitor the measurements in real time and to save the values detected during the connection in a file.The software is available for free download.

The pyranometers are supplied factory calibrated according to ISO 9847:2023 (Type A1) standard and with an individual factory calibration certificate.
Pyranometers are supplied with a female M12 free connector.
Cable, fixing accessories/adapters have to be ordered separately.
