Why Shielding of Electric and Magnetic Alternating Fields?

Artificially generated electric and magnetic alternating fields are becoming increasingly significant. The use of electrical and electronic devices in both residential and work environments continues to rise. The influence of these artificially generated fields on the human body is not yet fully understood, but there is growing evidence that people may be sensitive to exposure to electric and/or magnetic fields.

However, these fields can be significantly reduced through simple measures – without having to compromise on comfort or the latest technology:

Electric alternating fields are generally caused by any electrical wiring carrying alternating voltage, even if a connected device is turned off. These fields can be almost completely eliminated by using specially shielded products.

Magnetic alternating fields only arise when a device or light fixture is in operation and current is flowing. Magnetic fields can also be significantly reduced through appropriate structural design.

This shielding is only effective if the protective conductor of the electrical circuit to which the light fixture is connected is properly grounded.
