Description
MU Metal Foil with Adhesive Coating for Magnetic Shielding, Width: 155 mm
If at all possible, interfering magnetic fields should be avoided by switching off or by circuitry measures or should be reduced to a minimum by a distance to the radiation source.
If this is not feasible a reduction of the magnetic field can be reached by cost-consuming shielding means with MU metal foils.
First one should try to wrap the interfering sources (cables, transformers) or build a 'cage' of shielding around them.
Another measure is the shielding of a total room which is correspondingly costly.
The shielding effectiveness depends on the permeability and the strip thickness of the material and on the size of the part to be shielded. For example by a multi-layer wrapping of the component the shielding effect can be improved and adapted to the requirements.
Measurements of the magnetic field as a control of the shielding effect are strictly necessary.
The foils are supplied with relatively large widths in heat treated condition and can be cut with scissors to appropriate formats.
Buckling of the sheets should be avoided.
The construction of shields can be realized by wrapping support bodies.
Doing this, closed forms should be sought.
With openings the foil must remain protruding.
