Electrostatics at Workplaces

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) nowadays is a problem at many workstations, because modern microelectronics (integrated circuits) is easily destroyed by the impact of ESD. Other branches of industry like telecommunications, plastics and explosive material industry are also heavily affected by ESD.

High Voltages by Electrostatic Discharges

ESD causes losses of time as well as high financial losses and can harm human health. Charges of over 10,000 Volts can emerge on people, clothes, material and equipment.  Devices that are sensitive to electrostatics can already be damaged by electrostatic discharges of less than 100 Volts. Charges of 3,000 Volts and more can cause sparks. In endangered areas this can cause explosions.

Instruments for Electrostatic Fields (Electrical DC Fields)

There are different ways to avoid or to discharge electrostatic charges. To find an effectice and reasonable solution, first of all the localization and measurement of intensity and polarity of the charge have to be done. The devices offered here are suitable for that purpose and also for the supervision of desired charge.
