The audible perception of "electrosmog" up to now was possible very precisely in the range of the performance of the speaker of the aforementioned broadband receivers.

Because of the transmitting stations perform their broadcasting in HiFi quality, the important high tone range was missing, which evidently is present in thousandfold form as a mixing product everywhere.

Hearing this high tone sum separately, reminds a lot of people suffering from tinnitus (ringing in the ears) on the fatal noise which they experience around the clock in a depressing way. 
A correlation is exceedingly probable:
Besides HIFI there are side effects from overlappings, reflections, side band activities etc. bustling in those high tone levels, especially there where strong radiation lobes are pulling up a variety of lower signals, which can be heard as an infernal screeching noise with high sum level.

This further depressing aspect is made aware by the "terror speakers", especially in combination with the well coupling isotropic field probe or with the fully extended telescopic antenna (120mm), particularly in the evening.

By plugging into the headphone jack of the Spion receiver the built-in speaker is switched off, and only the high tone speaker will be audible.
For an impressing presentation the volume should be set to 3/4 of the max. volume.
