ALPHAiX 3000 with end window counter tube A
Geiger counter with end window counter type A for measurements of ALPHA-, BETA and GAMMA radiation.
This combination becomes predominantly as technical teaching materials in the specialist area physics and chemistry at universities and High Schools assigned. In addition, the range of application covers those Geology, mineralogy, building biology, radiology and general environmental protection. This version predominantly becomes important for pre- checkings of metals or other imported goods, e.g. from the GUS countries.
For food checks a larger counter tube has to be used, i.e. type B or FSZ.
Power supply: 9V alkaline battery for 4-6 weeks operation duration
Housing sizes: 102 x 60 x 30 mm³
Weight: 145g, incl. battery (without counter tube)
3 measuring programs selectable:
Pulses per measuring time, pulses per minute (average) and display in µSv/h (micro Sievert per hour).
Technical data: Sensitivity of the end window tube type A: Alpha radiation off 1.9 MeV Beta radiation off 0.09 MeV Gamma radiation off 0.01 MeV Dose range: 0.0001 – 300 mR/h Zero rate: 20 Ipm
End window diameter: 9.14mm. Detection limit: 12 Bq Caesium 137 at a distance of 3 cm and 10 min measuring time.
For the measurement of Alpha and Beta radiation, end window counter tubes have got a plastic coating and the end window is protected by a removable cap. The end window must not be touched and must not contact the sample which has to be measured.
For the mechanical protection of the end window counter tube whe recomend to order the optional ALPHAiX Carrying case, separately.
Please note: Because the connection of the external counter tubes to the ALPHAiX 3000 instrument are pluggable, with one instrument also the other types of counter tubes can be operated. Counter tubes can be supplied separately and for spare needs upon request.
